2018–19 English Premiership → 2018–19 Premiership Rugby – brings page in line with main page Premiership Rugby and all sources refer to this name or Gallagher Premiership Rugby for sponsorship reasons. English Premiership is rarely used to refer to the league and could still be confused with the Premier League. - Agree just make sure to move all the seasons from 1997-98 onwards. Think those before should be named something like Courage League? Some are that and some are "Premiership" which is wrong as they were never called that.Skeene88 (talk) 17:16, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Neutral (I don't know much about rugby and don't have an opinion), but please fix the incorrect hyphen "-" to the correct en-dash "–" in the suggested title. Paintspot Infez (talk) 16:12, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose I recall the original debate was to name it as such came about after Guinness stopped their sponsorship and it was argued that COMMONNAME at the time was "Guinness Premiership" but since that sponsorship went, it was decided to use English Premiership until such time as the "Aviva Premiership" became COMMONNAME (Which of course it never did), I see little difference here as likewise we use RFU Championship and not Greene King Championship. - Who calls it the "English Premiership" though? Its name is Premiership Rugby. Google "English Premiership" and mainly football results come up, google Premiership Rugby and its all to do with the competition.Skeene88 (talk) 12:52, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Probably our policies and guidelines don't deal too well with articles such as this one which are of relatively little interest outside a particular geographical area, and therefore most sources are themselves from that area. But the proposed title seems far more generally recognisable to me, and a good balance with being concise. (And agree about the hyphen! Good catch.) Andrewa (talk) 20:05, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- Support moving this article to the proposed title and the others from 1997–2017 to titles including "Premiership Rugby", per consistency with the main article and other arguments made here. Dekimasuよ! 03:19, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]If in any doubt, avoid adding sponsorship details to the title is my advice. Andrewa (talk) 20:08, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

Coaches/Directors of rugby in the teams boxes
[edit]Basically what do we want to show in this column? Is it who coaches the team, who "manages" the team or what I always took it to mean was effectively who selects the team?
Should we go to two columns with "Head Coach" and another with "Director of Rugby"? At the moment it is clearly contentious and unclear.Skeene88 (talk) 11:26, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
It’s not that simple though as not all teams have a head coach and not all have a DoR. I agree this is unclear atm but before it has always been whoever is listed as DoR unless there isn’t one in which case it’s head coach listed Steven a91 (talk)
Callum Sheedy nationality flag
[edit]@Dnfw:@Jgjsmith006: Hope you don't mind me pinging you for attention but I don't think we are recorded Callum Sheedy's nationality right on this page. He is uncapped and qualifies for Wales, Ireland and England. He was born and raised in Wales but the last national team he represented was Ireland under 19s. On [1] his Bristol profile he is described as a "Welshman" so I think we should record his nationality as Welsh. I am going to change the page, if anyone disagrees please comment here before reverting.Skeene88 (talk) 18:30, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
@Skeene88: Of course not. I wasn't aware but that sounds right to me. Dnfw (talk) 16:31, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
- No problem @Skeene88:. Once he gets his first international cap it will be a certainty. In the meantime, the country he was born in should do (until he is called up to the England squad - maybe). Jgjsmith006 19:19, 2 May 2019
- Now called into an England squad, albeit an uncapped match, so changing his flag to English.Skeene88 (talk) 15:26, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
